"There are hundreds and thousands of great kitesurfing spots in the world — any will do for me," thinks the novice kiter.

But on closer inspection it turns out that some of them are suitable only for beginners, in others the wind blows only at certain times of the year, and so on. The latter in particular is a weighty factor when choosing a spot for most of the kiteboarders with regular work with fixed vacations once or twice a year.

In this post we've collected the best kitesurfing spots where you can kite all year round without trying to adjust to the wind with your vacation calendar.

Tarifa, Spain

Spain has a favorable geographical position and many islands with a huge number of beaches. It is washed from almost all sides by water. Tarifa is called the capital of the winds. One of the most popular spots for kitesurfing for its perfect conditions.

  • Traffic: Overcrowded spot
  • Water depth: Ocean
  • Water conditions: Waves 1–3 m when Poniente, chop when Levante

Leucate, La Franqui and Les Coussoules, France

The beach is suitable for beginners in cross-shore winds. There are more than 10 kitesurf schools with qualified instructors. Closer to the spot you will find a lot of accommodation options. This spot is only 25 mins away by car from Perpignan–Rivesaltes Airport.

Boca Grandi, Aruba

Сonstant winds of 15 knots and a wide variety of smooth water and wave conditions make the island quite a popular place for riding. The currents here are strong, therefore swimming is not recommended. The views of this place are stunning.

The beaches are enchanting here with fine sand and turquoise waters. There are many hotels, attractions and restaurants for any budget. This spot became a small holiday resort.

Le Morne, Mauriius

Mauritius has long been recognized by kiters as one of the best places for kitesurfing. The place is very picturesque, on the one hand the open ocean with constantly running ocean waves, and on the other — real jungle with palm trees.
