India has become another center of the coronavirus outbreak: 29 people have fallen ill there. Most of the infected people were those who returned home from their trips to Italy, another large outbreak center. Indian authorities say they understand the situation and have started testing all passengers arriving in the country but have not raised the alarm yet, CNN reports.
As of now, about 95,000 people have been infected with the novel coronavirus and about 3,300 have died from it. Most of the victims are from China (where the outbreak started last December). Italy, Iran, South Korea are among the other highly affected regions.
COVID-19 has already forced the WHO to declare a global health emergency and influenced the world economy — for example, global airlines can lose up to $113 billion in sales because people are trying to avoid travelling and governments and organizations recommend people to travel less. Some cities (for example, New York) are asking citizens to self-quarantine which also can affect the economy.
