Coronavirus: first death in Japan confirmed

Most of the coronavirus victims are from China. However, a death have been reported in other country: Japan has a lost a woman. The woman was in her 80s and died in the hospital. Her diagnosis was confirmed only after her death.

Japan has also reported 44 new cases of the disease on the Diamond Princess, a quarantined vessel whose passengers are still isolated. At the moment, there are 218 infected people on the vessel and at least 713 waiting for the coronavirus test results. (It seems like the number of cases may increase in the future as all the infected and not infected people are locked on the same ship… that is why Japan is said to allow older passengers to leave the ship and spend 14 days at home).

China has revealed that about 1,700 doctors have been infected with the coronavirus while treating patients and six doctors have already died. The overall number of patients is more than 63,922. And 1,381 patients have died, the Guardian cites the National Health Commission.

Despite the fact that the number of affected people significantly increased after a new method of diagnostic was introduced last Tuesday, the WHO says that the outbreak is still predictable and the pattern of virus’ mortality and severity remains the same.
