As BBC News reports, every region of mainland China is now affected by a new coronavirus. The virus was first noticed in the Hubei province a few weeks ago and now has spread to Tibet (the first case was confirmed there on January 29).

Reporters inform that Chinese authorities registered 7,711 cases of the disease in the country as of 29 January. 170 people have been reported dead. The number of victims has already exceeded the number of victims of the SARS in 2003. 16 countries have confirmed cases of the infection.

Based on that fact, World Health Organization (WHO) is said to meet on Thursday to discuss the possibility of declaring a global health emergency.
