Since all the world is worried about the deadly coronavirus, some strange things have started happening on the Internet… as usual.
As Forbes reports, people, trying to learn more about the infection they heard something about, started to google for it a lot. And what surprises the most is that they started googling for “beer virus” and for “Corona beer virus”. These searches have even recently appeared on the Google Trends web page, which, you know, is overwhelmed with other, much more relevant, virus-connected searches. (The number of “Corona beer” searches has also increased in the middle of January).
It can be explained with popularity of the Corona Beer. The beverage has the same name (though, it has nothing to do with the virus at all) and people have somehow connected the newly heard word with what they knew. Or it may be an algorythm that added the word "beer" (based on what people usually search for when typing "corona") and people just did not notice it.
You can find “coronavirus symptoms”, “coronavirus”, “what is coronavirus”, “how to prevent coronavirus” among other popular searches on the Internet these days.
The new coronavirus was first noticed last year. It has been spreading around the world since then. More than 170 people have died from it to the moment, 16 countries have been affected.
The virus has had an enormous effect on tourism business — companies and destinations are losing money due to decreased number of people travelling from and to China.
