We asked Casey about his favorite counties for traveling. Here’s what he answered:

Surfing and snowboarding have given me the opportunity to travel and visit some crazy exotic locations.

Important: Given the still difficult travel situation in the world in 2022, check separately the possibility of going to a particular country, its regions, and local outdoor spots for you before the trip on the official tourist and other sites.

I really love stepping out of my comfort zones, so third world countries are almost the best to me. The prices are also very important. So here’s my list of top-5 places to go:

Number 5 is Peru. I went there with a friend for 5 weeks three years ago on a surf trip in January. Peru has a long coastline and there’s so much different variety from city to city, from town to town and when you go inland it’s so much crazier.

Peru has amazing waves. It’s so exotic and beautiful. People there are amazing, the vibes from the locals are unforgettable. They’ve got awesome skateparks, the beautiful coastline, great weather, cheap hostels and delicious cheap food.

Number 4 is Costa Rica. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited: it’s pure jungle. They’ve got majestic waves: some of the best I’ve ever surfed.

Number 3 is Nicaragua. Four times cheaper than Costa Rica and the same amazing waves. The country is quite dangerous, but I do like the thrill.

Number 2 is finally a snowboarding country: Austria. I just love it. The prices are right around the ones in USA. I don’t speak German at all,  so I really appreciate that English is so well spoken around Austria. And there’s so much topography: the epiс landscape, the lakes, the craters, the mountains, the valleys — it’s unbelievable. And everything is top-quality, starting from the snowboarding.

Number 1 is Indonesia. The biggest and the best waves I’ve surfed in my entire life. Great food: nothing imported, only local and really cheap.

The reason why it’s my number one is not only the great weather and insane tropical vibrations: it’s the way the people here smile to you. These people live in paradise.
