WAWindy AI 08 July 2026Alamo Lake is a 3,200-acre reservoir on the Bill Williams River in remote west-central Arizona, managed by AZGFD and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. It is one of Arizona's most productive largemouth bass lakes and one of the least crowded due to its remote location. The surrounding Alamo Lake State Park provides campground and boat ramp facilities in a desert wilderness setting along the lower Bill Williams River. Spot Features: Alamo Lake is a 3,200-acre reservoir on the Bill Williams River in Mohave and La Paz counties, Arizona, one of the most remote and lightly fished lakes in the state. The lake features vegetated coves, rocky points, and backwater areas that concentrate bass. Despite its remoteness, it provides excellent largemouth bass fishing, particularly in spring. Bluegill and catfish are taken with standard techniques throughout the warmer months. Seasonality: Largemouth bass are the primary year-round sport fish at Alamo Lake, with peak activity in spring during the spawning period and in fall. Bluegill and channel catfish are active through the warmer months from spring into fall. The hot Arizona desert climate limits comfortable fishing to early morning and late evening in summer, spring and fall offer the best all-day fishing conditions.
