Hoy, 50 años después, el Club Náutico los Nietos sigue siendo uno de los puertos deportivos con más puntos de amarre del Levante español, y el que sostiene la mayor masa social del Mar Menor. En lo deportivo, además, tenemos la suerte de contar con una escuela reconocida y premiada varias veces como la mejor de la provincia.
El Club de Regatas Mar Menor está situado en el límite sur de Los Urrutias. La superficie de agua abrigada es de 23.000 m2. Dispone de gran cantidad de servicios tanto sociales como náuticos. Es uno de los náuticos más activos en cuanto a la organización de regatas, manteniendo una prestigiosa escuela de vela. En la explanada del varadero se pueden realizar los trabajos propios de limpieza de fondos y pintura, así como todo lo relacionado con la mecánica.
