Seasonality: Chinook salmon can be caught at Moonstone Beach (Humboldt Bay area) in fall during their spawning run, typically August through November, as fish stage near the coast before entering the Eel and Mad rivers. Lingcod and rockfish are year-round targets from the rocky structure adjacent to the beach, with the best lingcod fishing from late winter through spring (February through May) when they move shallower.
