Largemouth bass in the vegetated shallows, smallmouth along the main channel rocky banks, striped bass by trolling in open water, crappie around brush piles and submerged timber. Seasonality: Largemouth bass and smallmouth bass are the primary year-round sport fish at Chickamauga Lake, with peak activity in spring during the spawning period and in fall. Striped bass school in open water through summer and fall. Crappie are excellent in spring during the spawn. The mild Tennessee climate allows year-round fishing.
