Walleye are targeted by trolling crankbaits and jig-and-minnow rigs, smallmouth bass by casting along the rocky structure, largemouth bass in the vegetated coves, catfish with cut bait on the bottom. Multiple boat ramps provide access in the state park. Seasonality: Largemouth bass and smallmouth bass are the primary sport fish at Sayers Lake, most active in spring during spawning and in fall. Walleye fishing peaks in spring and in fall. Channel catfish feed through the warmer months. The mild central Pennsylvania climate allows spring-through-fall fishing.
