Multiple boat ramps and marinas provide excellent access around the lake perimeter. Seasonality: Rainbow trout and brown trout are the primary year-round sport fish at Lake Almanor, with peak trolling success in spring and fall when fish are in shallower water. Largemouth bass are most active in spring during spawning and in fall. The high-elevation (4,500 feet) Sierra Nevada lake supports fishing from spring through fall, with the lake typically open year-round.
