If you decide to learn to dive, you will inevitably come across two training systems: the Professional Diving Instructors Association (PADI) and the Confédération Mondiale of Subaquatiques Activités (CMAS). Although PADI is the largest single organization, CMAS was founded as the World Diving Federation and as an association of national member associations long before PADI was founded in Europe.
