Spot Features: Mayport is a fishing community and naval station in Duval County, Florida, at the mouth of the St. Johns River on the Atlantic Ocean, one of the most productive inshore fishing locations in northeast Florida, with the St. Johns River inlet channel, the jetties, and the adjacent inshore marshes providing excellent access to redfish, flounder, black drum, sheepshead, seatrout, and snook. Seasonality: Redfish (red drum) and flounder are the primary inshore targets at Mayport in Duval County, Florida, year-round, with redfish best in fall and flounder from September through December. Black drum and sheepshead are cool-season structure fish. Spotted seatrout are spring and fall targets. Snook are warm-season species near the inlet.
