Waterbeach Angling Club was formed in June 1936, by a party of local anglers meeting on the river bank. Then known as 'The Beach Angling Club', the intention was to protect local angling interests against the big clubs from Cambridge, London and Birmingham. Since then, the club has maintained many of these waters and added others, notably a stretch of the Old West with a series of adjoining 'lagoons' at Stretham and Leland Water just off the Waterbeach to Landbeach Road including Atkin's Water and Magpie Lake, and Hatley's Junior Pit in Landbeach.The club celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1986 and 25 years later we are celebrated our 75th anniversary in 2011.

 The Cambridge Motor Boat Club is based on the riverside at Waterbeach (about 5 miles north of Cambridge) and is open to boaters and non-boaters alike. We offer a clubhouse, beautiful grounds, and a limited number of moorings. There is a comprehensive calendar of events throughout the year, in addition to the boating activities. We are a very friendly club, and, especially if you are new to the river, there is always someone on hand to help or advise you on anything you need to know about your boat! As we are a self-run club, not a marina, we rely on the involvement and commitment of members to keep it running.

The Cam Sailing Club based at Waterbeach, just a few miles north of the centre of Cambridge, has much to offer families who want to 'get away from it all' at weekends.

Situated on the pivotal point of the three rivers, the location gives you unprecedented access to the Cambridgeshire Waterways which offer 200 miles of local cruising and the pick of local pubs & restaurants. Offering a range of riverbank & floating pontoon moorings, the marina is able to accommodate most boats, from cruisers to narrow & wide beam boats, up to 70ft in length. All our moorings are serviced by a 240v electric hook up & water. Facilities and services available include toilets & showers, chemical cassette disposal, storage, hard standing, diesel, Calor gas and our new Cabin, which will be selling basic chandlery, provisions and refreshments. The marina also offers day boat hire and boat sales services.
