Seasonality: Striped bass and bluefish are the primary targets in Massachusetts Bay in Essex and Suffolk counties, Massachusetts, from May through October, with stripers best in spring and fall and bluefish most abundant in summer. Atlantic cod and haddock are year-round bottom fish. Pollock are spring and fall species. Black sea bass are warm-season structure fish.
