Haddock inhabit cold North Atlantic waters, favoring sandy and gravel bottoms. Recognizable by a black lateral line and “thumbprint” mark above the pectoral fin, they feed on mollusks, worms, and small fish. Highly valued commercially, they are also caught recreationally. Haddock are renowned for delicate white flesh.
