European eel Fishing

Anguilla anguilla

European eel fade fade

European Eels live in rivers and lakes across Europe but migrate thousands of kilometers to the Sargasso Sea to spawn. Juveniles, known as glass eels, return inland. Secretive and nocturnal, they feed on insects, fish, and crustaceans. Once abundant, they’re now critically endangered, though still legendary among anglers.
