European Pollock inhabit the northeastern Atlantic, often near rocky coasts and reefs. Sleek and fast, they feed on herring, sand eels, and squid. They are distinguished by a projecting lower jaw and darker back than cod. Popular among sport anglers, pollock strike jigs and lures aggressively and are excellent eating fish.
