Semotilus corporalis
Fallfish, the largest native minnow of eastern North America, inhabit streams and rivers with rocky bottoms. Strong swimmers, they build pebble nests during spawning and can reach over 40 cm. Omnivorous feeders, they consume insects, small fish, and plants. They are energetic fighters and occasionally used as bait.
