Guadalupe Bass, the state fish of Texas, are found in the clear, fast-flowing streams of the Edwards Plateau. They are similar in appearance to smallmouth bass but have a more streamlined body and distinctive vertical bars. Guadalupe Bass are aggressive feeders, preying on insects, Crayfishes, and small fish, and are a favorite among fly fishermen for their spirited fight.
