Epinephelus malabaricus
Malabar Grouper, or estuary cod, are massive Indo-Pacific predators. Found around reefs, wrecks, and estuaries, they can exceed 150 kg. Camouflaged with blotched patterns, they ambush fish, squid, and crustaceans. Highly prized by anglers and divers, they are apex predators but vulnerable to overfishing due to slow growth.
