Opsanus tau
Oyster Toadfish, with their broad heads and warty bodies, live in oyster beds, wrecks, and rocky bottoms along the U.S. East Coast. They produce loud “boatwhistle” calls during spawning. Feeding on crabs, mollusks, and small fish, they have strong jaws. Ugly but tough, they’re notorious bait-stealers for anglers.
