Round Stingrays dwell in sandy bays and surf zones along the Pacific coast. Small and disc-shaped, they bury in sand to ambush worms, crabs, and small fish. They are often stepped on by waders, causing painful stings. Though not sought after as gamefish, they are a familiar presence in shallow waters.
