Sand Seatrout, or white trout, are common in Gulf of Mexico bays and surf zones. They form large schools, feeding on shrimp, crabs, and small fish. Lacking the spots of spotted seatrout, they are smaller but abundant. Popular among inshore anglers, they are good table fare and excellent light-tackle sportfish.
