Scup, or Porgy, are abundant along the U.S. Atlantic coast, often found over rocky bottoms and reefs. Small but plentiful, they feed on worms, crustaceans, and mollusks. Scup travel in large schools and are targeted by bottom anglers. Their flaky white flesh is popular, and they also serve as baitfish.
