Largemouth bass are targeted in the coves and vegetated areas with standard techniques, stripers by trolling or locating schooling fish in open water, crappie around brush piles and submerged timber. Multiple marinas provide excellent boat access. Seasonality: Largemouth bass are the primary year-round sport fish at Lake Murray SC, with peak activity in spring during the spawning season and in fall. Striped bass school in open water through summer and fall. Black crappie are excellent in spring during the spawn. The mild South Carolina Piedmont climate allows year-round fishing.
