Spot Features: Fernandina Beach is a historic city on Amelia Island in Nassau County, Florida, at the Georgia-Florida state line, adjacent to the Amelia River and the Amelia Island tidal marshes, with exceptional access to the inshore fishing of the Nassau Sound and the adjacent coastal marshes that support redfish, spotted seatrout, flounder, sheepshead, snook, and tarpon. Seasonality: Redfish (red drum) and spotted seatrout are the primary inshore targets at Fernandina Beach in Nassau County, Florida, year-round, with redfish best in fall and seatrout most productive in spring and fall. Flounder and sheepshead are cool-season species. Snook are warm-season inshore fish. Tarpon are spring and summer visitors.
