Spot Features: Branched Oak Lake is a 1,780-acre reservoir in Lancaster County, Nebraska, near Lincoln, managed by Nebraska Game and Parks as one of the state's premier multi-species fishing lakes. Walleye are targeted by trolling crankbaits and jig-and-minnow rigs, largemouth bass with soft plastics and crankbaits along the vegetated coves, catfish with cut bait. Multiple state recreation area boat ramps provide excellent access. Seasonality: Largemouth bass are the primary year-round sport fish at Branched Oak Lake, with peak activity in spring during the spawning period and in fall. Walleye fishing peaks in spring during the spawning period and in fall when fish feed aggressively. Channel catfish feed through the warmer months. The Nebraska spring-through-fall season supports productive fishing from March through October.
