    Lucky Peak Lake is an 850-acre reservoir on the Boise River in Lucky Peak State Park, Boise County, Idaho, providing excellent fishing for kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, and smallmouth bass for the Boise metropolitan area. The reservoir's clear, cold water, dramatic rocky canyon setting, and diverse species make it one of the premier fishing lakes in southwest Idaho. Spot Features: Lucky Peak Lake is an 850-acre reservoir on the Boise River in Boise County, Idaho, within Lucky Peak State Park east of Boise. The reservoir features rocky canyon walls, clear water, and diverse structure. Kokanee are targeted by trolling small spinners and Wedding Ring rigs, rainbow trout with trolling gear and standard spinning techniques, smallmouth bass along the rocky canyon walls with crankbaits and jigs. Seasonality: Kokanee salmon are the primary target at Lucky Peak Lake year-round, most active in late summer as they approach their pre-spawn period (August-October) when trolling produces the most fish. Rainbow trout are stocked and provide good fishing from spring through fall. Smallmouth bass are most active in the rocky, clear-water sections in late spring and summer.
