The lake features the rocky bluffs, submerged timber, and clear water typical of Ozark reservoirs. Largemouth and spotted bass are targeted with soft plastics, crankbaits, and jigs along rocky points and timber, smallmouth favor the clearer rocky arms, crappie are caught on jigs around brush piles in spring, white bass school in open water in spring and fall. Seasonality: Largemouth bass are the primary sport fish at Stockton Lake year-round, with the best action in spring during the spawning season and in fall. Spotted bass are present in the rocky, clearer sections with a fall peak. Smallmouth bass are most aggressive in late spring and summer in the rocky areas.
