Managed by TPWD, it provides accessible multi-species fishing for largemouth bass, hybrid striped bass, white bass, and channel catfish for the Dallas metro area's northern suburbs. Spot Features: Lavon Lake is a 21,400-acre reservoir on the East Fork of the Trinity River in Collin and Rockwall counties, Texas, northeast of Dallas. It features diverse habitat of coves, points, and open water. Largemouth bass in the coves and vegetated areas with standard techniques, hybrid striped bass by trolling or targeting schooling fish, white bass with small jigs during the spring run, catfish with cut bait. Seasonality: Largemouth bass are the primary year-round sport fish at Lavon Lake in the mild North Texas climate, with peak activity in spring during the spawning period and in fall. Hybrid striped bass school in open water through summer and fall. White bass make a spring spawning run. Channel catfish feed through the warmer months.
