Part of the AZGFD urban fishing program, it receives regular rainbow trout stockings in cooler months alongside year-round largemouth bass and yellow bass, providing accessible urban fishing in the heart of the Phoenix metro area. Spot Features: Tempe Town Lake is a 220-acre urban reservoir on the Salt River in Tempe, Arizona, created by inflatable rubber dams, located adjacent to downtown Tempe. The lake features a mix of open water and shoreline structure accessible from the multi-use trail system. AZGFD stocks rainbow trout in cooler months, bass and other warmwater species inhabit the lake year-round and respond to standard warmwater fishing techniques. Seasonality: Rainbow trout are stocked seasonally at Tempe Town Lake in the cooler months (fall through spring) when Arizona temperatures support trout, the trout fishery is inactive in summer due to heat.
