    Lake Kegonsa is a 3,209-acre glacial lake in Dane County, Wisconsin, within Lake Kegonsa State Park southeast of Madison. It is one of four lakes connected by the Yahara River chain that defines Madison's lake district, supporting excellent walleye, largemouth bass, northern pike, and yellow perch fishing for the Dane County metro area. Spot Features: Lake Kegonsa is a 3,209-acre natural glacial lake in Dane County, Wisconsin, within Lake Kegonsa State Park near Madison, featuring diverse structure including vegetated shallows, rocky points, and open water that supports an excellent multi-species fishery. Walleye are targeted by trolling and jigging, pike with large spinnerbaits, bass with standard techniques, panfish with small jigs and worms. Seasonality: Walleye are the primary sport fish at Lake Kegonsa, with peak fishing in spring during the spawning period and in fall when fish feed aggressively. Largemouth bass peak in spring during spawning. Northern pike are most aggressive in spring and fall. Yellow perch and bluegill provide year-round panfish action with the best fishing in spring and fall.
