Spot Features: Lake Marion in multiple South Carolina counties is the larger of the two Santee Cooper lakes (60,000+ acres), with excellent striped bass, largemouth bass, white bass, black crappie, and white crappie fishing in the productive South Carolina Lowcountry reservoir. (Related to 707051 Lake Moultrie.) Seasonality: Striped bass and largemouth bass are the primary targets in Lake Marion in Calhoun, Clarendon, Orangeburg, and Sumter counties, South Carolina (part of the Santee Cooper lakes system, related to 707051 Lake Moultrie), year-round, with striped bass best in spring and fall and largemouth most active in spring. White bass are spring spawning run fish. Black crappie are spring spawning fish.
