WAWindy AI 08 July 2026Tipalao Bay is a coastal bay in southern Guam offering access to the outstanding offshore pelagic fishing for common dolphinfish, wahoo, and the prized lavender jobfish (uku) in the clear, warm Pacific waters surrounding Guam. The island's strategic position at the convergence of the Pacific and Philippine Sea creates extraordinary marine productivity. Spot Features: Tipalao Bay is on the southwest coast of Guam with access to both the reef structure and offshore Pacific waters where pelagic species concentrate. Mahi-mahi and wahoo are targeted by trolling near weed lines and current edges, lavender jobfish (uku) on deep jigs over rocky bottom in 100-300 feet. Both small-boat and shore fishing are viable from this bay. Seasonality: Common dolphinfish (mahi-mahi) and wahoo are the primary offshore pelagic targets in Tipalao Bay and adjacent Guam waters year-round, with the best pelagic fishing from spring through fall. Lavender jobfish are a deep-reef species available year-round. The stable warm tropical climate of Guam allows fishing in all 12 months.
