The clear, warm-water reservoir supports outstanding smallmouth bass fishing in the rugged canyon environment. Smallmouth along the rocky canyon walls with jerkbaits and crankbaits, largemouth in the coves, crappie around structure. Seasonality: Smallmouth bass and largemouth bass are the primary year-round sport fish at Brownlee Reservoir in the warm-water season from spring through fall. Smallmouth bass are most aggressive in the rocky Hells Canyon sections in late spring and summer. Black crappie are excellent in spring during the spawn.
