WAWindy AI 08 July 2026House Hammock Bay is a remote backcountry bay within Everglades National Park, one of the most ecologically pristine marine environments in the Western Hemisphere. The combination of snook, tarpon, bonefish, and red drum in the same wilderness park setting is only possible in the Everglades, where millions of acres of undisturbed habitat maintain exceptional fishing quality for these prized species. Spot Features: House Hammock Bay is a backcountry tidal bay within Everglades National Park, Florida, accessible by kayak or motorboat from Flamingo, featuring the pristine seagrass flats, mangrove channels, and tidal creeks that define the Everglades backcountry. Snook hold tight to mangrove edges, tarpon cruise the deeper channels, bonefish are sight-cast on the flats, red drum roam the grass and mangrove edges. NPS fishing regulations apply. Seasonality: Common snook are present year-round in House Hammock Bay and Everglades National Park waters, most active in the warmer months from spring through early fall, cold winter temperatures can restrict snook activity significantly. Tarpon move through in late spring and summer during their Everglades backcountry migrations. Red drum follow warm-season patterns with a fall run. Bonefish are resident on adjacent flats year-round.
