It supports red drum, spotted seatrout, flounder, and tarpon in the pristine estuarine habitat of Jekyll Island State Park. Spot Features: Jekyll Creek is a tidal waterway on the west side of Jekyll Island in Glynn County, Georgia, part of the Jekyll Island State Park estuarine system. The marsh grass, oyster reefs, and tidal channels concentrate red drum and seatrout, tarpon are encountered in the open creek and Sidney Lanier Bridge area in summer. A small boat or kayak provides the best access to the productive fishing areas along the creek. Seasonality: Red drum are the primary sport fish target in Jekyll Creek year-round, with the best action in fall from September through November. Spotted seatrout peak in spring and fall on the grass flats. Flounder are a fall-run species, peaking from October through December. Tarpon migrate through in late spring and summer.
