Striped bass are targeted by trolling or jigging near schools of shad in open water, walleye are caught by trolling crankbaits and jig-and-minnow rigs at depth, bass anglers work the rocky bluffs and coves with crankbaits and soft plastics. Seasonality: Largemouth bass and smallmouth bass are active year-round at Lake Cumberland, with the best action in spring during the spawning period and in fall.
