Seasonality: Walleye are the primary sport fish at Lake Sakakawea in North Dakota, with peak fishing in spring during the spawning period and in fall when fish feed aggressively before winter. Yellow perch are most catchable in fall. Northern pike are most aggressive in spring and fall. Chinook salmon were stocked in the lake and may be present.
