Striped Searobins inhabit sandy and muddy bottoms of the Atlantic coast. Recognizable by armored heads and wing-like pectoral fins, they use leg-like rays to “walk” the seafloor. Feeding on shrimp, crabs, and small fish, they are quirky bycatch. Their croaking sounds and striking fins make them memorable catches.
