Paralichthys dentatus
Summer Flounder, or fluke, live along the U.S. Atlantic coast, favoring sandy bottoms and estuary mouths. Masters of camouflage, they bury in sediment, ambushing shrimp, squid, and small fish. They migrate seasonally, moving offshore in winter. Known for explosive strikes, they are a popular target for inshore anglers year-round.
