Zander thrive in deep, murky lakes and slow rivers across Europe and Asia. Preferring twilight or cloudy days, they use excellent low-light vision to hunt perch, roach, and bleak. They are prized game fish and valued predators, but also occasionally used live to tempt giant pike in freshwater systems.
