Pillar Point Harbor is a protected harbor of refuge along the San Mateo County California Coast. Pillar Point Harbor is home port to a vital commercial fishing industry, to sport fishermen, and to pleasure boaters seeking the amenities this modern coastal harbor facility provides. The Harbor has 369 berths and an inner and outer breakwater, making it one of the safest harbors in the United States.

We’ve created in 2011 the first French surf school in California. We will teach all year round, in French or in English depending on your preferences! We do regular surf classes, but also Girls Sessions (Yoga+Surf), SUP Sessions, Team Building and Summer Surf Camps.

We provide professional surf lessons for Bay Area residents and vacationers from around the world. Our surf lessons are offered in the Half Moon Bay area and nearby areas upon request. We are currently offering surf lessons 7 days a week, for all ages and skill levels.

More than 20 years of experience has helped to make the New Captain Pete the premier charter on the Northern California coast. Captain Dennis Baxter started his sportfishing career in 1982 as a deckhand aboard the Ginnie C II out of Sausalito. He received his captain's license in 1985 and skippered several Bay Area charter boats after that. In 1988, he purchased the New Captain Pete and operated out of Berkeley before relocating to Pillar Point Harbor near Half Moon Bay - the ideal location for salmon fishing on the beautiful San Mateo County coast!

HMBYC programs focus on sailing. The club offers sailing instruction for adults and children and operates a fleet of club-owned small sailboats for use by qualified members. But there's plenty to do off the water as well. You can survey the entire month or the entire year for sailing and social events by consulting our calendar below.
