WAWindy AI 08 July 2026Puget Sound, Washington state's iconic inland sea, is one of the most productive marine fishing environments in North America, where Chinook, coho, pink, chum, and sockeye salmon, lingcod, rockfish, Pacific halibut, and Dungeness crab can be targeted in the beautiful fjord-like waters of this spectacular Pacific Northwest inland sea. Spot Features: Puget Sound is the large inland sea in western Washington state, spanning multiple counties from the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the south end near Olympia, with over 2,500 miles of shoreline and exceptional Chinook, coho, pink, chum, and sockeye salmon fishing, along with lingcod, rockfish, Pacific halibut, and Dungeness crab throughout the sound. Seasonality: Chinook salmon and coho salmon are the primary targets throughout Puget Sound in King, Pierce, Kitsap, Snohomish, and Mason counties, Washington, from spring through fall, with Chinook most abundant from May through September. Pink salmon are available in odd-numbered years. Lingcod and rockfish are year-round bottom species. Chum and sockeye salmon are fall and summer species.
