Spot Features: Government Cut is the man-made inlet connecting Miami's Port of Miami (PortMiami) to the Atlantic Ocean in Miami-Dade County, Florida, one of the most heavily trafficked inlets in Florida, with excellent tarpon, snook, jack crevalle, mangrove snapper, barracuda, and bluefish fishing from the South Pointe Park jetties and fishing pier at the southern tip of Miami Beach. Seasonality: Tarpon and snook are the primary targets at Government Cut in Miami-Dade County, Florida, year-round, with tarpon most reliably encountered in spring and summer (April-September) in the inlet and snook most active year-round.
