It is one of the most frequently fished urban lakes in the ADF&G Anchorage stocked lake program, providing readily accessible rainbow trout fishing for Anchorage residents in a well-maintained park setting. Spot Features: Jewel Lake is a stocked lake in the Municipality of Anchorage, part of the ADF&G Anchorage area stocked lakes program and one of the best-known urban fishing lakes in the city. Rainbow trout are targeted with small spinners, salmon eggs, Power Bait, and fly fishing. The lake is surrounded by the Jewel Lake Park trail system and provides excellent bank access. Seasonality: Rainbow trout are the primary stocked species at Jewel Lake in the Anchorage area, with the best fishing from ice-out in spring through summer and again in fall. The lake is part of the ADF&G Anchorage stocked lake program and is one of the most popular urban fishing lakes in Anchorage due to its accessible location. Ice fishing through winter is possible.
