It supports cutthroat and rainbow trout and is named for its origin in historical gold dredging operations in the Anchorage area. Spot Features: Dredge Lake is a small lake in the Anchorage area, managed as part of the ADF&G Anchorage stocked lakes program. Cutthroat and rainbow trout respond to small spinners, bait (salmon eggs, worms, Power Bait), and fly fishing. The lake is accessible from the Anchorage trail system and provides convenient urban fishing. Seasonality: Cutthroat trout and rainbow trout are active from ice-out in spring through the Alaska summer and into fall at Dredge Lake in Anchorage. The lake provides consistent fishing through the open-water season from May through October. Ice fishing is possible in winter months when ice conditions are safe.
