Seasonality: Striped bass and cobia are the primary Chesapeake Bay targets in the mid-Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia, from spring through fall, with stripers best in spring and fall and cobia most abundant in June and July. Red drum and bluefish are warm-season species. Tautog and Spanish mackerel are seasonal visitors. The mid-bay area is accessible from multiple Virginia marinas.
